The Wildcat Sanctuary provides home for Bengal Cats after SeaQuest’s permanent closure

Sandstone, MN – The Wildcat Sanctuary will be providing a forever home to two 6-year-old Bengal cats (a cross between a domestic cat and Asian Leopard cat) after the permanent closure of SeaQuest’s Roseville location.

The sanctuary staff were onsite today at SeaQuest to pick up and transport the Bengal cats, named Ferguson and Flynn, back to the sanctuary.  The cats will be assessed by the sanctuary’s veterinarian, receive intakes exams, and be quarantined before being introduced to other cats at the sanctuary. Both cats are currently on prescription food for a medical condition.

The Wildcat Sanctuary’s current Miracle Match program, funded by generous donors, comes at the perfect time. Donations are being doubled to help with the lifelong care of cats like Ferguson and Flynn and the other 150 rescued residents there.

As with all the cats they rescue, the sanctuary will be absorbing costs for the continued care of Ferguson and Flynn. As an accredited non-profit, donations from the public are always appreciated. Visit www.wildcatsanctuary.org if you’d like to help.

Ferguson and Flynn will live with other hybrid wild cats in the sanctuary’s new Catio Town. There, they can stretch their wild side with spacious heated bedrooms and outdoor catios.

“Rescue is what we do. When hybrid cats are in need, we’re one of the few accredited sanctuaries that can step in to help. Many Bengal cats have health issues and poor litterbox habitats and, without our sanctuary, often face euthanasia,” said The Wildcat Sanctuary’s Executive Director, Tammy Thies.

But we can only continue our rescue efforts with the public’s support. We receive rescue requests every month from private owners and facility closures just like this.”

You’ll be able to watch Ferguson and Flynn transition to their new life on the sanctuary’s Facebook page at: https://www.facebook.com/wildcatsanctuary

The Wildcat Sanctuary (TWS) is the only accredited, non-profit sanctuary in the Midwest.  TWS provides a natural sanctuary to wild cats in need and inspires change to end the captive wildlife crisis.  Combining natural and spacious habitats with a life free of exhibition, TWS allows all residents to live wild at heart. As a true sanctuary, we do not buy, breed, sell or exhibit animals. The Wildcat Sanctuary is accredited by the American Sanctuary Association and the Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries.  More information can be found at WildcatSanctuary.org
