LillyLilly and Titan, both Bengal tigers, came from the tragedy in Pine County, MN where a woman was killed by Tango, a third tiger. Authorities immediately called TWS to help with the emergency but when our staff arrived at the scene, it was too late for Tango and his owner. Authorities seized the remaining two tigers(Titan and Lilly) from the property. Within 48 hours, TWS was able to respond and transport the wildcats to our new site in Sandstone, MN. Lilly was extremely underweight and suffered frostbite on her ears and tail. TWS was informed by authorities that Lilly originated from YOR Exotics, where she was found as the last surviving tiger a few years earlier. To survive, Lilly consumed her cage mates after they had passed away from starvation. Today, Lilly is healing from her emotional wounds. She loves to swim in the pool and play with pumpkins. But what she loves the most is her neighbor, Titan. She will talk to him for hours a day and rub along the fence line.
Titan & Lilly - Together At Last - 8/2009 Titan and Lilly are doing wonderfully together. It took a few play dates to get them used to the idea of sharing their toys and perches, but now they are two peas in a pod. We are so thrilled to be able to give them tiger companionship. And now they share both habitats, close to 17,000 square feet of space.
Lilly Moves Into New Habitat - 7/2008 Lilly had a very special 4th of July next to Titan, the tiger. Her recent move into a new habitat made her the happiest tiger in the world. Due to her history, Lilly does not tolerate sedation or being crated, therefore, a chute was constructed so that she could walk into her new habitat from her old area at her own pace. Her new area has a wonderful rock pool, perches, toys and an indoor room. But her favorite part, is that it is right next to Titan. A huge thank you goes to everyone who help build the habitat as well as our special donors who contributed funds:
